The 2nd International Drone Show Competition,
initiated by SPH Engineering's Drone Show Software (DSS) team, announces results.
214 registered participants from 104 countries
competed in one or more of six categories. Entries were evaluated by a jury panel composed of EU, North and Latin American and Asian drone show professionals, 3D animators and experienced entrepreneurs.
The concept of the Competition in 2021 turned into a multidisciplinary contest of both shows performed by real drones and drone show animations.

Winner I Best drone show up to 1000 dronesTaiwan Drone 100 paints the night sky of Taiwan from 20 to 400 drones. For Taiwan Drone 100, the drone show is not just a new set of technology, but an integration of Art, Culture and Innovation.
The drone show, entitled “Dawn”, manifests going through the depth of the COVID-19 Pandemic in the year of 2020 toward the break of dawn in 2021. The show hopes to enlighten the spirits of the spectators on site in Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum in Taiwan, as well as viewers via social media in the globe, in the path to recovering from the pandemic. The blue bird in the choreography symbolizes the faith in soaring to the sky endeavours everyone of us has put together.

After delivering the first show for Edinburgh New Year 2020 Celestial has worked with some amazing brands, such as Greenpeace and Amnesty International. Celestial team is now setting up an office in Australia with some very exciting projects about to launch.
"For many months Celestial wanted to enter for some awards, but this is a small industry and we couldn’t find any dedicated drone display awards. Vincent Bauer presented a synchronized show on a soundtrack "Christmas Spirit" and went back to the essence of Christmas before it became a popular celebration, from the expectation of the miracle to the message of peace and love. This show required more than 70 hours of work from the creation of the soundtrack to the final rendering.
"Being a pyrotechnic show designer for many years, the desire to work a new way of expression is imposed by discovering the field of drone light shows. Self-taught, my goal is to push the limits of the imagination by proposing shows always more creative and emotional".

1. Drone show providers, tech teams, 3D animators, vendors, event and marketing agencies, light and integrated show organizers and private drone show fans can take part in the Competition.
2. Participants should send an application form and video (link) in accordance with the requirements for the chosen nomination and then click "APPLY" on the following site: droneshowsoftware.com/competition
3. Video preview should be uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo. The link with the preview should be provided together with the download link, both links are provided in the application form. The video must comply with the following parameters: MP4 or MOV, 1920x1080pix, 25fps, h.264, Bitrate 30-50Mbps.
4. Participants can submit one application for each nomination.
5. Participants can receive an award (first place) in only one nomination.
6. There are two criteria for all participants: materials must comply with all requirements and be submitted before the deadline (23:59 UTC + 3, November 30, 2021) with an application form.
7. Submitted materials in all nominations will be evaluated by an international jury.
8. All materials (except "Best drone show 3D animation", which has its own criteria) will be evaluated by members of the jury on a scale of 1-10 based on three criteria: technical requirements, artistic value, and visual impact.
9. The winner in each nomination will be chosen based on the number of points awarded.

In this nomination, applications are accepted both from participants who have already organized one or more drone shows and those who have not yet held a single drone show. In this nomination, in addition to the main evaluation criteria, the following are assessed: creative approach to presenting material about the company, readability and visibility of text materials and graphic elements, clarity in providing information about the company's activities and capabilities.

- What new ideas does it bring to the table?
- Does it involve elements previously not seen in drone shows?

- Does the video leave a lasting impression on the viewer?
- How dynamic is it?
The winner in each nomination will receive:
1. Drone show operator kit: a set of five items that an operator always needs to comfortably organize a drone show. For the "Best drone show animation" winner, this kit will contain items useful to the animator.
2. Educational support (drone show workshop): access to thematic online training organized by representatives of the international jury, SPH Engineering team, as well as technical specialists in the field of organizing drone shows. This will help to spread knowledge in areas like drone show safety and quality based on eight years of experience, as well as provide access to community expertise.
3. Marketing support: winners will be promoted in the digital channels of SPH Engineering and Competition partners, including mentions in a post-event press-release.
4. Winner prize set (diploma and award statuette).
The "Best drone show 3D animation" winner will be awarded a MacBook Pro 13, 256gb.
The "Best drone show, over 1000 drones" winner will be awarded a DJI FPV drone.
SPH Engineering and Competition partners reserve the right to choose a participant who will be awarded an additional special prize.
The schedule for awarding prizes to winners will be determined by the Competition organizers.
