1. The application package for the nomination “Best integrated show simulation: Fireworks and Drones” includes: video preview link of the Finale 3D project, final Finale 3D project (.fin file) download link, completed application form.
2. In this nomination participants should present a simulation that features a harmonious synergy between fireworks and drones, where each entertainment medium is accentuated by the other.
3. While creating the project participants can use color palettes that are complementary. The project can be also designed as a show that is choreographed to music.
4. Participants can integrate any number of figures from drones into the project (the number of drones in a figure is also not limited). There are also no restrictions in the Competition rules on the type and number of fireworks that must appear in the project (simulation).
5. There are 3 categories of participants in this nomination:

5.1. Participants who have Drone Show Software and Finale 3D licenses
5.2. Participants who have Drone Show Software license and don’t have Finale 3D license
5.3. Participants who have Finale 3D license and don’t have Drone Show Software license

6. For each category of participants, the rules set an individual route for creating a project for participation in the Competition.
7. The final project (simulation) that features a harmonious synergy between fireworks and drones should be created in Finale 3D.
8. To create the drone show animation/choreography* that participants integrate to the final project can be used the following programs: Blender, Cinema 4D or Drone Show Creator.
* For the final project participants can also use the 3D animation that have been already created by the participant for other projects
9. After creating the animation/choreography of the drone show in one of the programs specified in paragraph 8, participants must send files in the format DSS Creator .show file, .blend file. or .c4d file. to competition@ugcs.com, so that the Competition organizers team could send participants back the VVIZ file which participants could upload to their pyro shows in Finale 3D.
10. A video preview of the Finale 3D project running from start to finish should be recorded and uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo. The link with the preview should be provided together with the download original project file link, both links are provided in and together with the application form.
11. The duration of the final project (simulation/show) should not be less than 5 minutes and should not exceed 10 minutes.
12. The participant must also describe in the application form the concept of the entire project/simulation/show. Without a description of the project/show, the application will not be considered.
13. All submitted projects/simulations/shows will be evaluated by an international jury, which includes, along with other specialists, the Finale Fireworks and Drone Show Software teams professionals.
14. There are two criteria for the projects/simulations/shows to be eligible for winning: must be made in accordance with all requirements and be submitted before the deadline (23:59 UTC+3, November 20, 2022) together with a video preview.
15. All applications will be evaluated on a scale of 1-10 by members of the jury. The top participants will be chosen based on the number of points they are awarded. The organizers of the Competition reserve the right to increase the number of winners depending on the quality of the submitted applications.
16. Winners will be announced on the https://www.droneshowsoftware.com/competition and informed by email within a month after the deadline for applications.
17. The physical prizes will be delivered to the winners within 2 months after the announcement of the results (the organizers of the Competition are not responsible for the delay in the delivery of prizes due to the fault of the postal operator or for other reasons beyond the control of the organizers).
18. All submitted materials will be owned by SPH Engineering and Finale Fireworks.
19. Participants should consent to publication of their projects/simulations/shows and all materials using the simulations, with reference to the participant.

There are 3 formats of participation in this nomination

1. Participants who have Drone Show Software and Finale 3D licenses should:

• Create a pyro show in Finale 3D,
• Create a 3D animation* in Drone Show Creator, Blender or Cinema 4D,
• Upload path files to Drone Show Software Path Viewer,
• Export VVIZ file and finally,
• Upload VVIZ file to Finale 3D (to import a drone show into Finale 3D in the VVIZ format, go to 'File > Import > Import drone show),
• Send the final project using the Сompetition application form consisting of the links to the video preview and .fin file of the Finale 3D project.

* For the final project participants can also use the 3D animation that have been already created by the participant for other projects

IMPORTANT:
Before participants start preparing a project for this “Best integrated show simulation: Fireworks and Drones” nomination, participants should send the request to receive the Path Viewer with the VVIZ export option to competition@ugcs.com.

2. Participants who have Drone Show Software license and don’t have Finale 3D license

• Request the Finale 3D pro license from the Competition partners - Finale 3D team (support@finale3d.com),
• Create your pyro show in Finale 3D according to the Finale 3D software documentation (https://finale3d.com/documentation/getting-started-basic-instructions/),
• Create a 3D animation* in Drone Show Creator, Blender or Cinema 4D,
• Send the request to receive the Path Viewer with the VVIZ export option to competition@ugcs.com,
• Upload path files to Drone Show Software Path Viewer,
• Export VVIZ file and finally,
• Upload VVIZ file to Finale 3D, (to import a drone show into Finale 3D in the VVIZ format, go to 'File > Import > Import drone show),
• Send the final project using the Сompetition application form consisting of the links to the video preview and .fin file of the Finale 3D project.

* For the final project participants can also use the 3D animation that have been already created by the participant for other projects

IMPORTANT:
Before participants start preparing a project for this “Best integrated show simulation: Fireworks and Drones” nomination, participants should send the request to receive Finale 3D pro license to support@finale3d.com & the request to receive Path Viewer with the VVIZ export option to competition@ugcs.com.

3. Participants who have Finale 3D license and don’t have Drone Show Software license

• Request the Drone Show Creator access form the Competition organizers team (competition@ugcs.com). Blender or Cinema 4D softwares can be used as well if participants work with these programs,
• Create the drone show animation in Drone Show Creator, Blender or Cinema 4D,
• Send the DSS Creator .show file, .blend file. or .c4d file. to Competition organizers team (competition@ugcs.com),
• After the previous step, the Competition organizers team will be able to send the participants back the VVIZ file,
• Upload VVIZ file to Finale 3D, (to import a drone show into Finale 3D in the VVIZ format, go to 'File > Import > Import drone show),
• Send the final project using the Сompetition application form consisting of the links to the video preview and .fin file of the Finale 3D project.

IMPORTANT:

Before you start preparing a project and an application for this nomination send the request to receive the Drone Show Creator (if you don’t use Blender or Cinema 4D) to competition@ugcs.com.

Сontestants can import VVIZ files unlimited number of times throughout the design process (contestant can import a drone show, then make changes to the drone show in the drone animation software, then import into Finale 3D again).

The winners will be selected by the jury evaluating all applications according to the following criteria:

1. Technical correctness of the simulation (0-10)
Does the simulation meet all the requirements?
Does it contain fireworks and drones?
Does it meet the duration requirements?

2. Visual impact of the simulation (0-10)
Does the simulation leave a lasting impression on the viewer?
How dynamic is it? How impressive is the use of color?
Does it have a thematic concept?

3. Artistic value (0-10)
Is the simulation and show concept original?
What new ideas does it bring to the table?
Does it involve harmonious synergy between fireworks and drones?

Each participant will have two attempts to correct any errors highlighted by the jury.
