The event concluded with a stunning teaser for the Fantastic Four, as Sky Elements introduced their new pyro drones, creating a flaming '4'—the largest pyro drone display in the Americas.
The Largest Drone Show in the United States
Sky Elements, renowned for its numerous annual drone shows across the U.S., reached a new milestone with this event. Utilizing 2,400 drones, this show became the largest they have ever performed.
"Our team faced many challenges to achieve this scale," said Preston Ward, Chief Pilot of Sky Elements. "Creating something of this magnitude for the first time was a challenge, but our team rose to the occasion."
Innovating with Pyro Drones
Sky Elements also debuted pyrotechnics on drones, becoming the first drone show company to receive an FAA waiver for such technology. The Fourth of July saw the first public use of these pyro drones in a viral eagle formation.
"Adding pyro drones was a natural next step for the Deadpool and Wolverine show," noted Brian Geck, Creative Director for Sky Elements. "Teasing the Fantastic Four with a flaming '4' in the sky was an incredible experience and the most exciting public debut for our pyro drones at Comic-Con."
A Collaborative Success
This event's success was a result of collaboration among Disney, Marvel, and Sky Elements, with support from San Diego Comic-Con and Petco Park. Each partner's efforts focused on creativity, teamwork, and safety.
"The Comic-Con audience is ideal for this kind of show," said Rick Boss, President of Sky Elements. "Creating a custom experience for Marvel fans has been a dream come true. We aim to continue pushing boundaries with our shows in the coming months. A big thank you to the entire team who made this possible."
